Ian Macleod's Edinburgh Gin introduces "The Meadows" at World Duty Free
"The Meadows," a London Dry style gin inspired by the beloved park in central Edinburgh, is the first in the Edinburgh Gin Traveller's Collection series
Ian Macleod Distillers has introduced a new full-strength flavor for its award-winning Edinburgh Gin brand, exclusively for its new boutique in the World Duty Free store at Edinburgh Airport. Created for Avolta, "The Meadows" is the first in the Edinburgh Gin Traveller's Collection series.
The Edinburgh Gin Boutique at Edinburgh Airport, the brand's historic home city, is a 20 square-meter space in Avolta's World Duty Free store. It mirrors the architecture of Edinburgh Gin's new distillery and visitor center at The Arches near Waverley Station, set to open this autumn.
"The Meadows" is a London Dry style gin inspired by the beloved park in central Edinburgh. Edinburgh Gin Head Distiller David Wilkinson describes it. "The initial aroma has a big hit of verbena and lemon, with a hint of spearmint. This is followed by the more subtle aromas of elderflower and chamomile. On the palate, the initial herbal flavor develops into soft lemon. The aftertaste is dominated by meadow-sweet; floral but with a finish of honey and almond."

This new expression joins the existing range of full-strength gins and popular liqueurs available at the boutique. The boutique enhances Edinburgh Gin's presence at the airport, complementing its signature bar at Plaza Premium's airside executive lounge opened in 2022. The brand's new packaging, which debuted at the boutique, communicates the "Filled with Wonder" positioning and highlights the commitment to natural flavors.
