The Macallan releases seventh expression in Archival Series
The Macallan Folio 7
Single malt whisky brand The Macallan has released the seventh expression in its Archival Series, The Macallan Folio 7. The series was created to commemorate the brand's print, press and advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
According to the company, "The seventh release in The Macallan Archival Series explores one of our legendary advertising campaigns from 1986, ‘The Boffins Baffled’, which tells the story of a party of scientists who were left positively baffled when asked why The Macallan was so special.
"After slumbering patiently in sherry seasoned oak casks, maturation within which imparts both rich, complex flavors and resplendent natural color to The Macallan spirit creating an ‘amber-gold nectar positively billowing with flavor’.
The flavor experience of the whisky is explained as follows:
Nose: Dried fruits, baked apple and pear, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, orange and oak.
Palate: Raisins, fig, milk chocolate, orange peel, vanilla, baked fruits with light spices.
Finish: Long and creamy with dried fruit and warm spices.
Folio 7 will be available via The Macallan Online Ballot in eligible markets and to enjoy at The Macallan Bar in The Macallan Estate, via reservation only, from April 2023, as well as select duty free retailers globally from June 2023.
