Bacardi GTR reveals channel exclusive Glen Deveron
Glen Deveron 40 Year Old is a limited edition exclusive to GTR, launching from December 2022 in select locations globally

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has released the Glen Deveron 40 Year Old Highland Single Malt, as the latest addition to its award-winning Exceptional Cask Series, a special collection of rare releases of the finest Single Malts. Glen Deveron 40 Year Old is a limited edition exclusive to GTR, launching from December 2022 in select locations globally.
Previously unreleased, this Single Malt has been hand-selected from the distillery’s private reserve by Malt Master, Stephanie Macleod. Elegantly presented in a wooden presentation box with a brand booklet, each individually numbered bottle comes with a glass stopper engraved with the Glen Deveron insignia, making this a truly stunning collector’s piece.
Distilled on November 28, 1980, the Glen Deveron 40 Year Old is the oldest expression from the distillery to date.
After decades slumbering in oak, the whisky spent its final year in an extremely rare Oloroso Sherry Spanish Oak Butt.
Stephanie Macleod explained, “Having spent many hours nosing and sampling several whiskies in the Glen Deveron inventory, I found myself drawn to the impeccable quality of the whisky in this particular cask. Spanish oak is beautiful to work with; it bestows intense color and spice and is perfect for finishing. Casks of this high standard and age are few and far between and, when you consider oak’s profound effect on the taste of whisky, it is not surprising that the details count. As a result, The Glen Deveron 40 Year Old is a stunning example of an older Scotch with the dry spicy notes of the Oloroso, complementing the apple and cereal notes that are the signature of the Glen Deveron style.”
Owners of the Glen Deveron 40 Year Old will have the exclusive opportunity to explore the Glen Deveron Distillery in a unique digital experience via a mix of AR, CGI and audio, creating a multisensorial engagement with the brand. An immersive visual journey transports through the rugged coastal landscape around Glen Deveron for a true sense of where the whisky comes from, before entering and exploring the distillery. The engagement also includes a special guided tasting narrated by Stephanie Macleod.

Glen Deveron is the most north-easterly distillery in Scotland, hailing from the coastal town of Macduff. A place of stunning beauty, rugged coastal scenery and rolling countryside abound in this bracing part of the world. The distillery is sited on the banks of the River Deveron, just before its calm waters flow out to the rough swells of the North Sea. The whisky takes its name from this great Scottish river, famed for its salmon fishing.
With generations of know-how behind it, Glen Deveron crafts in the traditional way using copper pot stills, fine malted barley and pure water from deep spring-fed wells behind the distillery.
