Elizabeth Arden through the years: insider stories from brand veterans
General Manager Yumie Chia has relied on Prevage® serums and Ceramide Capsules to maintain radiant skin throughout her 17-year career despite constant travel
What makes a beauty product truly stand the test of time? We asked three Elizabeth Arden veterans with a combined 53 years of experience to share their most-loved products, personal beauty journeys, and the wisdom they’ve gathered along the way.
Meet our insiders
Yumie Chia, General Manager Asia Pacific Travel Retail (17 years with Elizabeth Arden)
Angeline Lim De Silva, Regional Training Director (24 years with Elizabeth Arden)
Sara Lai, Area Sales Manager-Taiwan Region (12 years with Elizabeth Arden)
The products they can’t live without
All three women independently named the Ceramide Capsules as their desert island must-have, with Angeline calling them her “skin’s daily dose of youth” and Sara describing them as her “skin vitamins.”
Meanwhile Yumie said it is the powerful combination of Prevage® serums and Ceramide Capsules that keeps her looking youthful despite her demanding schedule: “Having a constant lack of sleep in my daily life can easily take a toll on the skin and speed up aging. However, the discovery of Prevage® saved my skin.”

With 24 years at Elizabeth Arden, Regional Training Director Angeline credits Ceramide Capsules for her youthful appearance at nearly 60
The legendary Eight Hour Cream® also earned unanimous praise, with Angeline listing its many uses: “Chapped lips, dry knees and elbows, soothing irritation or minor burns, creating a protective barrier in cold weather, calming eczema.”
Beauty discoveries that changed everything
Sara, now approaching 45, admits: “Back then, I didn’t care that much about skincare as I was younger and felt makeup could always cover up. But joining a beauty brand changed my mindset.”
For Angeline, who’s nearing 60, the Ceramide Capsules have been transformative: “I constantly get told I don’t look my age – and I know these capsules are a big reason why.”
Travel essentials
When asked what three Elizabeth Arden products they’d pack for travel, the responses were strikingly similar:
“Ceramide Capsules are especially good for people who travel a lot,” explains Sara. “They’re very easy to use, just one capsule in the morning and one at night.”

Area Sales Manager Sara Lai transformed from makeup enthusiast to skincare advocate during her 12-year journey with Elizabeth Arden
Yumie, who is "inching close to 50," adds: “For long haul flights, massage on the Ceramide ‘Gold’ capsules serum. Guaranteed to prevent skin from getting dehydrated in the dry cabin air.”
Personal stories
These products have become woven into the fabric of their lives, creating memorable moments that go beyond skincare.
“During a snorkeling trip, my daughters got sunburned. Eight Hour Cream® calmed their inflammation and became their savior. Now, whenever we travel, my kids always remind me to pack the Eight Hour Cream®,” says Sara.
Yumie recalls: “I applied the Ceramide Capsule Serum during one of my long-haul flights, and the lady passenger sitting next to me asked, ‘I’ve always wanted to try that capsule serum you just applied. Is it good?’ I handed her an extra capsule I brought along. Just before landing, she thanked me and said, ‘I can really feel a difference in my skin. It feels so soft, so bouncy. I love it!’”
For Angeline, the Ceramide Capsules eventually became “a beauty ritual between me and my daughters. They ‘borrowed’ them so often I finally just gave them sets of their own. And in that moment, I realized that beauty is something we pass on – not just genetically, but emotionally.”
How their vision of beauty has evolved
All three women noted how their concept of beauty has transformed over the years.
“My personal idea of beauty when I was much younger might have focused more on the external – what makeup could do, how perfect skin needed to look,” reflects Angeline. “Now? Beauty to me is about confidence and how I feel in my skin.”
Yumie echoes this sentiment: “Ten years before, I would view beauty as an important external surface image. Ten years on, I view beauty holistically as someone who is attractive both externally as well as internally. A beautiful and kind heart brings about natural beauty.”
Advice to their younger selves
When asked what advice they’d give to their younger selves, a common theme emerged: start early.
“Never think that being young means you don’t need skincare. Start taking care of your skin early on to ‘preserve’ your youth,” says Sara.
Angeline adds, “Moisturizer is non-negotiable. Don’t underestimate the power of consistency. I would hand my younger self a jar of Ceramide Capsules and Moisturizer and say, ‘Start now – you will be so thankful you did.’”
Yumie says, “In life, we can never please everyone. Most importantly, stay true to your heart and beliefs. Love yourself, believe in yourself.”
These beauty veterans have not just witnessed the evolution of iconic products – they’ve experienced firsthand how consistent, quality skincare becomes part of life’s journey, creating moments of connection and confidence that extend far beyond the mirror.

"Ceramide Capsules are especially good for people who travel a lot,” explains Sara. “They’re very easy to use, just one capsule in the morning and one at night.”
