Estée Lauder unites in earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria

By Jane Hobson

On the morning of February 6, Turkey and Syria were impacted by several earthquakes of large magnitude. The company’s deepest thoughts and concerns are with the people and communities affected by this tragic natural disaster. We are grateful to report that all Estée Lauder Company (ELC) employees are safe and accounted for.

"The health and wellbeing of our employees, partners and communities, where we live and work continues to be a top priority, and we are proud to provide support through the following initiatives," reads a press release.

See below to learn more:

  • The ELC Cares Employee Relief Fund (ELC Cares Fund): To support employees impacted by catastrophic disasters (including the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria), personal disasters, and personal hardships, the company created the ELC Cares Fund to provide eligible employees globally with immediate and critical financial relief
  • Support to critical relief and recovery efforts: ELC, its brands, and its Charitable Foundation are pledging a total donation of $400,000 to UNICEF in order to support critical relief and recovery efforts for children and families in affected areas
  • ELC Good Works: To uphold our company values and support employees who wish to contribute to communities affected by the earthquakes, ELC Good Works offers a double-match (2 dollars for every 1 dollar donated, or local currency equivalent) on eligible employee donations to various nonprofits year-round, including the ELC Cares Fund

The global ELC community is united in its efforts to support those impacted by this natural disaster. We will continue to adapt our resources and actions as recovery efforts unfold.
