Mondottica launches Cath Kidston Sun 24 collection

The floral print CK5019 Ingrid in Solid Black leads the collection
London-based eyewear specialist Mondottica is set to launch the latest collection from iconic UK lifestyle brand, Cath Kidston.
Cath Kidston is a globally known brand, which is highly popular with Asian consumers. Its passion lies in nostalgic illustrations, whimsical floral prints and playful designs. The brand targets women of all ages with a style and flair that celebrates British culture.
The Cath Kidston Sun 24 collection encapsulates the brand’s extension into eyewear through a palette of summery pastels recalling spring freshness and what it calls "a season of burgeoning possibilities."
Leading the collection, the floral print CK5019 Ingrid in Solid Black is a feminine vintage cat-eye shape frame. The Black Harmony Ditsy print features solid black in perfect contrast to the delicate flowers decorating the front and temples, with a stitched-look Cath Kidston logo positioned on the sides of each arm.
A light, refreshing take on a modern shape, the hexagonally shaped CK5022 Greta in a Crystal Light Pink acetate features "a sprinkling of flowers on the temples in a signature Cath Kidston Toile Ditsy print." The floral story continues with a flower on the temple tip and the Cath Kidston logo on each side.
Cleverly contrasted, CK5020 Sophia in Pink Tort displays an easy to wear square cat-eye front in a subtle rose tortoiseshell with feminine pink temples. Cath Kidston’s famous Rose print features inside the temples alongside the Cath Kidston branding.
Wearable CK5023 Marlene in Crystal Rich Dark Red has been designed to suit any face shape. A Summer Strawberry print in delicate pink features on the side temples, balanced with the rich red front with subtle floral details in the strawberry linking back to the classic Cath Kidston style. A core wire is visible on the inside, in addition to branded flowers on the temples tips and brand logo on the sides.
According to Mondottica’s National Accounts Manager – Sunglasses & Travel Retail, Louise Porte, the launch of the Cath Kidston collection is well-timed to coincide with the 2024 TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore in May.
“Cath Kidston is a very popular brand in Asia, and we believe this Sun 24 range is a perfect fit for travel retail in the region,” said Porte. “The designs are outstanding, the sunglasses are particularly well priced (RRP £52, compared with a £65 High Street retail price), and the prints are quintessentially ‘Cath’.
“Asia is a targeted region in Mondottica’s expansion strategy in travel retail. Along with Cath Kidston, a number of our brands, in particular Benetton, Ted Baker, Vivienne Westwood, AllSaints and Pepe Jeans, are already well-known and popular in many countries in Asia. Now is the time to have them featured within all the duty free and travel retail channels.
“Mondottica is hoping to exhibit at TFWA Asia Pacific in 2025 and I will be in Singapore in May on a fact-finding mission to finalise those plans."
